CST 338 - Week 3

 Hey everyone! We have officially reached week 3 of my second 8-week course of my online journey! I am so excited to share my thoughts for the past week. We had a major assignment due - Histogram. That was a very fun and challenging assignment. It was frustrating at times, but I was so relieved when I finally finished! We had to exchange our codes with a classmate, or 2-3, and give/get feedback on our work. 

Here is a summary of the feedback I received. 

I was told that my code was clean and neat. Adan mentioned that he had done his from scratch by himself, without using Professor’s recording walkthrough. Keeping that in mind, he said that both of the codes were similar.

I noticed that everyone struggled with the Display()  method, especially the histogram display part. It was hard to get both the counts and letters on the same line, using the same format as the professor.

I struggled a lot with the Display () method. It took be a whole day to figure out the problem. It was like a puzzle, trying to debug and solve small pieces at a time.

I think the sort() method was easy, especially after the professor hinted to use bubble sort. But of course, auto-generating getters, setters, and constructors were the easiest.

My biggest victory is all my tests passing, and my outputs being the way they were supposed to be.  I am especially proud of finishing Display() and submitting the work on time, which I thought was not going to happen.

We also submitted an assignment this week called Trooper.java. That was also a uniwue experience. We learned about abstract and extended classes. It was a lot, but new, information. We also had a midterm this week. 

This week was pretty busy. I am excited to see what our Professor has planned for us for next week. i will be back with another update next week!

CST 499 - Week 1

 Hey everyone,      This week, I completed three modules: Tools of the Trade: Linux and SQL, Assets, Threats, and Vulnerabilities, and Sound the Alarm: Detection and Response . Each module built on the last and helped me better understand both the technical and analytical sides of cybersecurity .      In Tools of the Trade: Linux and SQL , I strengthened my understanding of how operating systems and databases are used in security work. I learned how Linux is widely used in cybersecurity for system administration, log analysis, and security operations. CST 489 - Week 7

 Hey everyone, This week, I expanded my understanding of AWS databases, security, governance, migration, pricing, and architectural best practices. I reviewed database services including Amazon RDS and Aurora for relational workloads, DynamoDB for NoSQL applications, Neptune for graph data, and DocumentDB for document-based use cases. I also learned how Amazon ElastiCache improves performance through in-memory caching. A key takeaway was understanding when to choose managed services versus unmanaged deployments on EC2. I explored migration services such as AWS DMS, AWS Schema Conversion Tool (SCT), Migration Hub, DataSync, and Transfer Family.
